Cookie Policy

1. The short version
The VenturOS marketing site (this site) uses a small amount of strictly necessary browser storage so the site can work, and — only if you opt in — PostHog product analytics so we can learn which pages help builders. We do not run advertising cookies, we do not sell or share your data, and we do not track you across other websites.
2. Cookies vs. local storage
Where this policy says "cookies", we also mean similar technologies like localStorage and sessionStorage. Most of what this site stores is actually in localStorage, not in classic cookies.
3. Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the site to function. They are set without consent because the site cannot work without them.
localStorage["theme"]— remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.localStorage["vos_consent_v1"]— remembers your cookie choice on this banner so we don't ask again on every visit.- Authentication session tokens — only set on the application subdomain (
app.ventur-os.com) after you sign in. Not used on this marketing site.
4. Analytics (optional, requires consent)
If you accept analytics in the cookie banner or in Cookie preferences (footer), we load PostHog, an open-source product analytics tool. Specifically:
- Provider: PostHog Inc., served from
eu.i.posthog.com(EU data residency). - What it sets: cookies and
localStorageentries prefixed withph_. - What we capture: page views, button and link clicks (autocapture), browser type, viewport size, referrer, and approximate location derived from IP. We do not capture form input contents.
- Session replay: disabled.
- Cross-site tracking: none. PostHog only sees your activity on this site.
- Retention: per PostHog's default of up to 7 years; we currently keep aggregate analytics indefinitely and identifiable event data for 12 months.
You can withdraw consent at any time. When you do, we call PostHog's opt-out API and clear the ph_* cookies on your next page load.
5. What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (no Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, X Pixel, etc.).
- Cross-site tracking or browser fingerprinting.
- Social media tracking pixels.
- Any cookie that sells or shares your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Managing your choices
You can change your choice any time:
- Click Cookie preferences in the footer of any page.
- Clear this site's storage in your browser to reset to defaults — the banner will reappear on your next visit.
- Use your browser's built-in cookie controls (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all let you block or delete cookies per-site).
Disabling strictly necessary storage may prevent your theme preference from being remembered and may cause the cookie banner to reappear on every visit.
7. Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a default-off for analytics: the banner still appears so you can opt in explicitly, but analytics will not load unless you do.
8. Changes to this policy
If we add or change cookies materially (for example, enabling session replay or adding a new analytics tool), we will update this page and re-prompt you for consent by bumping the version of our consent record (currently vos_consent_v1).
